How to Play Triple Klondike (Turn 3) — Quick Guide

Goal:
Build up each home pile by suit, from A to K (A, 2, 3, …).
Moving Cards:
You can organise the columns by moving cards in descending order and alternating colors (like 5 on 6).
You can move a whole group of cards if they’re in sequence.
Stockpile and Waste Pile:
Click the stockpile to flip 3 cards to the waste. The top waste card is playable.
Empty Columns:
Only a K can start a new column.

Playing Turn-Three (Triple) Klondike Solitaire — The Layout

Turn-Three (Triple) Klondike Solitaire is a variant that stands out in Solitaire, as it lets you see three cards from the Stockpile at once. More than that, using three decks reflects thrice the volume of the game’s layout, from the Tableau to the Foundation piles.

There are four main areas in the Klondike Solitaire layout:

1.The Tableau
The main play area has 13 columns, with the first containing one card, the second card containing two cards, the third containing three cards, the fourth containing four cards and so on, with the 13th column containing 13 cards. Only the topmost card of each column is face-up.
2.The Stockpile
The Stockpile is where the remaining 65 cards go after laying out the Tableau as described above. Specifically, the number of cards you draw depends on the Klondike Solitaire variant. In the Turn-1 version, you draw one card at a time. In the Turn-3 version, you draw three cards, but only the top card can be played at any point.
3.The Waste Pile
When cards are drawn from the Stockpile, they go to the Wastepile, making them available for play on the Tableau. Of course, you could also choose to draw from the Stockpile once more. Ultimately, once the Stockpile is empty, the Wastepile is reshuffled to reinstate a new Stockpile.
4.The Foundation
There are 12 Foundation piles that you’ll build in ascending order for each suit, from Ace to King.

Move with Purpose

1.Playing Turn-Three (Triple) Klondike Solitaire incentivizes newer players to quickly graduate from mainstream variants and improve their Solitaire skills at a more rapid pace. If you master this variant, you’ll definitely find other difficult variants like Spider much easier than most people because they simply use lesser cards.
2.Since there are more cards, it’s obvious that the objective will be different too. Players will have to build 12 Foundation piles rather than the traditional 4. To meet such a goal, recall that you can move any lower-ranked card to a card that’s higher in rank by one, provided it’s the opposite color and the top card. For example, you can move a 4 of Hearts on a 5 of Spades if the latter is the top card of a column. You can also move sequences of cards in this way. Do note that the King is an exception — being the highest ranked card, you can only play it on empty columns.
3.If you run out of moves to make on the Tableau, this is where the Stockpile comes to you rescue! You can draw three cards at a time from the Stockpile; from this set, you can only access the topmost card but can see all three cards. You win the game when you clear the Tableau by making all Foundation piles. If you run out of moves to make and the Foundation piles aren’t complete, then the game is considered lost.

Use the Stockpile Wisely
Even though the Stockpile is a crucial part of your strategy, it can sometimes be a double-edged sword. In Turn-Three (Triple) Klondike Solitaire, players can draw three cards at a time, which often causes people to draw impulsively.

It’s easy to draw cards from the Stockpile without a strategy, but this usually makes the entire layout more chaotic and hard to untangle. After all, the Tableau has 91 cards before you even start adding to it! Placing too many cards from the Stockpile can cause your important cards, such as Kings, to be stuck behind unnecessary cards. So try not to do this, as it can create blockages that are challenging to navigate through.
