Quick Guide

  • Deck:

Eleven Triangle Pyramid Solitaire is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards.

  • Deal Out:

Arrange 28 cards face-up in an upside-down pyramid shape, with 7 cards in the top row.

  • Objective:

Send all 52 cards to the Discard pile.

  • Drawing:

Draw 3 cards from the Stockpile at once, placing them face-up in each of the 3 Wastepiles. You can only cycle through the Stockpile once.

  • Discarding:

Eliminate cards in pairs that add up to a value of 11, regardless of their suits. Face cards can be discarded by matching them together.

  • The Challenge:

  • Difficulty Level:

Eleven Triangle Pyramid Solitaire is very difficult to beat. You’ll need a lucky deal and a bit of skill to win.

Setting Up the Game

Dealing Out the Tableau

  • Item 1

In Eleven Triangle Pyramid Solitaire, the Tableau consists of 28 cards arranged in an upside-down pyramid.

  • Item 2

Deal 7 cards for the top row. Then, deal 6 cards in the row below, with the cards partially overlapping the ones in the row above. Each row has one fewer card than the previous, with only a single card in the bottom row.

  • Item 3

All cards in the Tableau are dealt face-up.

Setting Up the Piles

  • Step 1

Stack all the remaining cards face-up in a single pile. This is your Stockpile.

  • Step 2

Leave space next to the Stockpile to create 3 Wastepiles.

  • Step 3

The Discard pile is off to the side.

Strategies for Eleven Triangle Pyramid Solitaire

Eleven Triangle Pyramid Solitaire is a variant of Triangle Solitaire that’s only slightly easier. Like Triangle Solitaire, it’s extremely difficult to beat and it’s common to end the game without getting to discard a single card.

Your odds of winning aren’t great, but you can still improve them with a bit of strategy:

  • Patience Is a Virtue

Plan every move carefully. Don’t just look at the cards you can eliminate — pay attention to the ones underneath them too.

  • Use Your Memory

You can only see the cards at the top of your Wastepiles. If you can remember which cards are hiding underneath them, you’ll be able to play more strategically.

  • Work Your Way Back Through the Wastepiles

You can only cycle through the Stockpile once. If you need to access a card that’s already buried in the Wastepile, the only way to get it is to dig it out by eliminating the cards that cover it.
