Goal:
Build up each home pile by suit, from A to K (A, 2, 3, …).
Moving Cards:
You can organise the columns by moving cards in descending order and alternating colors (like 5 on 6).
You can move a whole group of cards if they’re in sequence.
Stockpile and Waste Pile:
Click the stockpile to flip 3 cards to the waste. The top waste card is playable.
Empty Columns:
Only a K can start a new column.

Turn-Three (Double Face-Up) Klondike Solitaire stands out because it lets you play with more than one deck, and it’s not even that difficult thanks to the face-up cards! But if you’re thinking about the changes you might need to make while setting up the game, you’ve come to the right place. There isn’t a huge difference from the classic Solitaire version, but as a refresher, here’s what you need to do to set up Turn-Three Double Face-Up Solitaire.

There are four main areas in the Klondike Solitaire layout:

1.The Tableau
The main play area has nine columns, with the first containing one card, the second card containing two cards, the third containing three cards, and so on, with the ninth column containing nine cards. All cards on the Tableau are face-up.
2.The Stockpile
The Stockpile contains the leftover cards after setting up the Tableau. The number of cards revealed varies by Klondike Solitaire version: Turn-1 shows one card per draw, while Turn-3 displays three cards at once. In Turn-3, only the top card is playable, but you can either cycle through the three or draw a new set from the Stockpile - no problem.
3.The Waste Pile
When you draw cards from the Stockpile, they move to the Wastepile. You can play these cards on the Tableau or draw more cards. Once the Stockpile runs out, the Wastepile is shuffled and used to refresh the Stockpile.
4.The Foundation
There are eight Foundation piles that you must build in ascending order for each suit, from Ace to King.

Move with Purpose

1.With the addition of a double deck in this Solitaire variant, you can expect some changes in gameplay. However, understanding the rules will be quick and easy — just watch!
2.The primary objective of this Solitaire variant is to build 8 Foundation piles in ascending order from Aces to Kings. To achieve this, you can put any card on top of a higher-ranked card as long as the destination card is the topmost card in a column, one rank higher, and of the opposite color. For instance, you can place an 8 of Hearts on a 9 of Spades if the latter is the topmost card of a Tableau column. You can also move cards in stacks if they form a descending sequence. For example, you can move a pile of 7, 8, 9, and 10 on top of a pile of a Jack, Queen, and King because they all form a sequence.
3.If you arrive at a point where you can’t make any moves in the Tableau, resort to using the Stockpile. Remember that every time you draw from the Stockpile, it will show you three cards, though you can only ever play the topmost card. Of course, you could continue drawing instead of playing that card, but remember that once you run out of the Stock, you’ll have to replenish it with the Waste pile.

Winning Tips and Quirky Tricks

Cycle Through the Stockpile
Since there are so many cards in the Stockpile, you naturally have to be a little cautious. A good tactic here is to cycle through the entire Stockpile once before moving any card. When you start the game, take some time to carefully go through the entire Stockpile to see the cards. This will help you find any Aces that are hiding in the Stockpile, ensuring you can start building Foundation piles quickly.
Build Multiple Sequences
Unlike traditional Solitaire, you will be playing with 104 cards in this variant, so you will find a more cluttered Tableau, making it difficult for key cards to move. However, you can easily overcome this by making shorter sequences. In other words, by focusing on short sequences, you can move them to other cards and use the empty spaces for Kings.

For example, if you have the option of placing a card in a long sequence or starting a new short sequence, choose the latter, as it helps in maneuvering cards. It’s easier to move shorter sequences, and if you put all your focus on creating a longer sequence, your other cards will start becoming cluttered.
Use the Stockpile Carefully
I’m sure you’ve heard this strategy multiple times — use the Stockpile wisely — but the importance of this can’t be stressed enough. Since you can’t access the Stockpile cards underneath without playing the topmost card, it's common for players to place the top cards somewhere in the Tableau just to access those below them in the set. Such a hasty move, however, can backfire.

Whenever a sequence needs a card that’s placed second or third in the set, it’s a good idea to just leave it and focus on another sequence for now. In other words, don’t pursue inaccessible cards to the point of over-drawing cards from the Stockpile and cluttering your Tableau as a result.
